About This Quote

If you have ever tried to buy something for someone else, you have probably experienced the frustration of being presented with countless choices. If you could say something to one of those choices, what would it be? You would probably say, "I'd like the one that's not so expensive." We all have this need to have things that are not so expensive. For example, I have a young daughter who loves animals. She works hard on her school assignments and likes to do her schoolwork without being told what to do.

However, her favorite subject is science because she likes learning about animals. She also likes to read and has an interest in writing and drawing. So, we buy books and supplies with her name on them and take advantage of the sales at the end-of-the-year book fair.

Now we can spend time doing things we enjoy with our daughter instead of having to worry about whether we can afford the cost of an ice cream cone or a book (which as you know is as much as a movie ticket). It is amazing how much better we feel when we think about what we can afford rather than what we can't afford.
